Facebook VS Facebook Lite – What’s the Difference Between Facebook and Facebook Lite

There’s a battle going on between Facebook VS Facebook Lite, if you want to know the winner read it down. Love it or hate it, Facebook has become an integral part of many people’s online lives.

Facebook VS Facebook Lite

One way you might be able to improve your social media experience is to look at Facebook’s Lite app (available for Android and iOS).

Facebook VS Facebook Lite

One thing you should know is that whether you are using the Facebook lite or Facebook app they are both under the same company. Both the primary Facebook and Facebook Lite apps offer all the main features of Facebook.

But the later version is designed to use fewer network data and will work well on low-end devices. We look at both applications to see which is best for you in this Facebook versus Facebook Lite battle.

Facebook is one of the most popular social networking websites that allow users to connect with friends and family online from virtually anywhere in the world.

Founded by Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook is probably the world’s largest community where people from all over the world post, comment, and share their most loved memories in the form of pictures or videos. The Facebook app offers a much more convenient and faster way to connect with friends and family.

Facebook Lite

Facebook Lite is an Android app designed for low-speed connections and low spec phones. It has been available outside the US for a few years, and now it’s available in the US, too.

Here are the differences between it and the original Facebook app. For instance, the Facebook main app weighs 57 MB on Motorola Moto E4. While that of Facebook lite is 1.59 Mb, can you see a huge difference, that’s not all read down.

Difference between Facebook and Facebook Lite
Below are some of the difference between Facebook and Facebook lite;

This is the obvious one. Users can download Facebook Lite for only 1.41 MB. Therefore, covering a lesser part of your storage space whereas the Facebook app varies accordingly with every device. For my device, it requires 71 MB of space. I guess Facebook lite outshines the main app in terms of size.

Facebook app covered 276 MB while Facebook Lite only covered about 14.5 MB. Keep in mind, this size will increase along with the usage of both of these apps. Still, Facebook Lite’s memory consumption comes nowhere near to that of the Facebook app. In terms of memory ill also give it to Facebook lite.

When it comes to the better user Interface, Facebook definitely has the upper hand. Toggling among Notifications, Friends, Feeds, Profile, and Watchlist are really smooth and easy. Whereas in Facebook Lite, you may observe and experience the slow loading time it takes to switch among all these components. The credit here goes to the Facebook app.

When using the Facebook app, you won’t be able to access messages and chat. For that purpose, you will need to install the Facebook Messenger app separately. Then only, you will be able to see your messages and see who others are online.

But you won’t be needing any app for accessing chats on Facebook Lite. This is personally the best feature on the Lite version according to me. No chat heads, no extra app, just tap on the Messenger tab in the app and that’s it. The credit will go to Facebook lite here.

Another one obvious is that the Facebook Lite was basically designed for those users who do not want to spend most of their data scrolling down to the Facebook wormhole. In Facebook Lite, videos don’t play automatically.

Instead, you will have to tap on the video in order to watch them. The setting also applies to the Facebook app. The Facebook Lite version will still work even when you are facing poor Internet connectivity. The Facebook lite is the winner here.

Because of the bigger app size, more features, and high-quality images, the Facebook app drains the battery much faster than the Lite version. The winner here is Facebook lite.

After going through all these differences, it is quite obvious that Facebook Lite performs better than the Facebook app.
