The Young Insurance Professionals Programme (YIPP) is simply an online training program that is designed by the London School of Insurance in conjunction with African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re) to simply fulfill its mission to foster the development of the insurance and reinsurance industry in Africa.

Africa Re/YIPP simply invites applications from suitably qualified applicants for the Young Insurance Professionals Programme (YIPP).

The Programme

Every year, successful candidates for the Young Professionals Programme will simply undergo a one-year training program with a “stretch/learning assignment” built-in, where they will also gain valuable on-the-job experience. They will also undergo an intensive 9-month online training on a specially designed package focusing on reinsurance, leadership, and management subjects. The training program will then be run in English and French.
Successful candidates will also be gathered for one week in Lagos or in another city where Africa Re has an office to simply conclude the training and also attend the graduation ceremony. During the one week of face-to-face training, participants will then be divided into teams. Each team will then be requested to present a paper of not more than five pages on how they expect to influence their respective organizations in the areas of training, knowledge, and skills acquisition if they assume positions of authority.

Contribute to market research and segmentation for low-income clients, as well as product development for the general public, in order to increase insurance penetration.
Contribute to the construction of a reliable database of re/insurance market statistics.

Eligibility Criteria
Minimum requirements for eligibility:

Citizen of a member state of Africa Re;
Maximum 32 years of age;
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent;
Access to the internet;
Excellent written and also oral communication skills in English and/or French.
Relevant work experience in an insurance or even reinsurance company, insurance broking firm, or some other related fields;
Expected Gains:

Africa Re will then sponsor the top ten young professionals, who then successfully complete the YIPP program, to one of the major insurance/reinsurance events in Africa (AIO, FANAF);
A certificate of completion issued by Africa Re and also the London School of Insurance;
Accelerated career development in the industry.

Important Information/Notification

Once you have submitted your application, you will also receive a confirmation by email.
Successful applicants will also be contacted by email before “January 22, 2023” and must be available to commence the program in “February 2023”.
Any candidate who does not then participate in any of the modules will simply be excluded from the program.
