Indigenous General Merit Undergraduate Scholarships

Indigenous General Merit Undergraduate Scholarships; Australian students beginning full-time undergraduate studies in a Bachelor of Advanced Science or Bachelor of Science (Advanced Mathematics), including double degrees with a declared major in the School of Mathematics & Statistics, are eligible for the Indigenous General Merit Undergraduate Scholarships, which are offered by UNSW Sydney. Scholarship candidates will be chosen based on their academic achievement and the award amount varies. Please submit your application before the deadline if you’re interested in being considered for this scholarship.

While each individual’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity is distinct and precious, UNSW scholarships for Indigenous students will need documentation of their heritage and identity from credible sources. Any Indigenous-specific scholarship offer issued by UNSW Scholarships is conditional upon receipt of proof of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage from the accredited sources listed on the Nura Gili website, if you haven’t already given Nura Gili proof of your identity and history.

Eligibility

  • Be commencing full-time undergraduate studies in a Bachelor of Advanced Science or Bachelor of Science (Advanced Mathematics), including double degrees with a declared major in the School of Mathematics & Statistics.

Selection CriteriaApplicants will be assessed based on:

  • Academic Merit
  • Leadership skills (school, workplace, or community)
  • Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience)
  • Aptitude and commitment to studies

How to Apply

To apply for the UNSW Indigenous Scholarships Program, you must do so online. The form will ask for details regarding your academic background, accomplishments, and financial requirements. A personal statement detailing your goals for attending UNSW is also required.
